How to Find your lost Android Phone without installing any Apps

Did you lose your Android Smartphone without installing a tracking app?
and almost impossible to locate our phone back. Did you know there are built-in anti-theft feature available for your Android smartphone after it's stolen or lost. There are a couple of ways to track your lost phone using Google Account linked to your phone.


Here are some helpful tips that you should know to track your lost or stolen Smartphone (or Tablet).

Google's Android Device Manager Tool 
It is a Google's free tool helps you to locate, ring and wipe your device remotely. You do not have to install any app to track your device, but there are a few requirements:

  • You have login access to your Google Account linked to your Android Device.
  • Your smartphone (or tablet) is turned On and has access to the Internet.
  • You haven't changed your Google Setting to disallow Android Device Manager to locate your device. The default is Allowed (or On).
  • You've changed your Google Setting to lock your device and erase its data. The default is not allowed to lock or erase (or Off)
  • A theft hasn't reset your smartphone to factory default.

To use this feature, You must enable Android Device Manage feature in your smartphone or android device.
You can find it under "Security" section of Google settings app or settings > Google page in latest  Smartphones.



Once you enable Andoid Device Manager feature, you can locate your mobile phone by opening Google Android Device Manager Tool link in web browsers:

You can also add multiple mobile phones to Andoid Device Manager using same GMAIL ID and then you can locate any added desire phone using drop-down list on Android Device Manager webpage.



Note: Your phone must be connected to Internet so that Android Device Manage can detect its location.

If your using Samsung Galaxy smartphone, you can enable Samsung's Find My Mobile Feature
it allows users to manage and control their missing device remotely using the Find My Mobile website. It can ring your phone, lock and unlock the device, extend its battery life, format/ reset the device as well.
Remote controls must be enabled to utilize the Find My Mobile service.
Location must be enabled for the device to be remotely located.
Like Android Device Network connection (Cellular and/or WiFi) is also required to enable and disable Anti-Theft Protection.




To register and activate the device for the Find My Mobile service:

Ensure you're signed in with your Samsung account.

  • Note To add a Samsung account, navigate: Apps > Settings > (Accounts) Add Account > Samsung account then follow the prompts.
  • From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings > Security.
  • Tap Remote controls.
  • Enter the Samsung account password then tap Confirm (located in the lower-right).
  • From the Introduction to remote controls screen, tap OK (located at the bottom).
  • Tap the Remote controls switch (located in the upper-right) to turn on.
  • Tap Google location service to enable then tap Agree from the Location consent prompt.
  • Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
  • Tap the Back icon Back button icon (located in the lower-right).
  • Tap Reactivation lock to enable or disable.
  • Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
  • Note Reactivation lock prevents the missing device from being reactivated.
  • Note The reactivation lock must be turned off before a warranty return.
  • From the Reactivation lock prompt, tap OK.
  • Enter the Samsung account password then tap Confirm (located in the lower-right).



I also recommend to use this apps to protect your device.
 "Lockwatch - Thief Catcher app  "it emails you when someone tries to unlock your phone with the wrong code. The email includes a stealth  photo taken with the front camera and a map showing the location of your phone.
and "Find My Lost Phone app "help you to locate lost or stolen phones and lost or stolen Androids.
